Updated on 01/03/2012The Executive Board of the SRLF is composed of 14 members, including 12 intensivists and 2 critical care nurses or physiotherapists. In addition, one representative of the college of non-universitary affiliated hospitals (CREUF) and one representative of the college of pediatric intensivists (GFRUP) are permanent guests. The executive board meets monthly and the core members every other week.
The Executive Board has the task to implement the policy of the society as defined by the President. The general objective of the Society is to promote the recognition of intensive care among the public and Policy makers via outstanding educational and research programs.
All active members of the SRLF who have duly subscribed are allowed to participate in the election of the members of the Executive Board, and to be candidate for this election. The members of the Board are elected for 4 years.
The President is elected for 2 years and cannot represent himself a second time. He is elected by the Executive Board.
The President elect is elected for 2 years during which or at the end of which period, he/she becomes President . He cannot be reelected a second time.
The Vice-President is elected for 2 years and cannot be reelected a second time. He/she should be a member of a French-speaking country, and he/she is in charge of the relations with the intensive care community in French speaking countries.
The General secretary is elected for 2 renewable years during his/her mandate. He/she may appoint an assistant secretary.
The treasurer is elected for 2 renewable years during his/her mandate. He/she may appoint an assistant treasurer.
A time-window of 2 years is required before committing for a second four-year mandate as an Executive Board member.
